Here we are presenting the stars of the month (June, 2025) at Youngbuds Chess Academy!
Ojasya Sharma :

Parents’ feedback about Ojasya:
We express our heartfelt gratitude for the recognition of Ojasya as Star of the month. We’ve had a great experience with the Young Buds Chess Academy. Ojasya joined the chess classes at YBCA a few months ago. We’re excited to see how he continues to grow in the chess.
A big thankyou to coach Abhinav. Your positive teaching attitude n support matters a lot. We hope that Ojasya continues to grow in his chess skills.. Weekends Tournament are really very helpful to improve his skills. We are very glad for our son’s improvement and definitely will recommend to other parents.. Thank you so much YBCA.
Coach’s feedback about Ojasya:
Ojasya is a “learner” by nature. I am not saying that he learns very fast or he’s an exceptional child but he is very keen to learn new things.
He’s on time in the classes, sits attentively, ask adequate questions which shows his interest and pure love for the game.
Whatever topic is being done in the class he just wants to grasp everything as much as he could.
His never giving up attitude is also appreciable like if there’s a tough puzzle that seem hard, he don’t sit after answering ones or twice but he keep trying to solve them with the same enthusiasm as his first answer.
His curiosity towards learning new things makes him special.
I wish he keeps on loving the game of chess just like he does now!

Lakshin showed interest to learn chess and I tried several academies to place him. But nothing worked out and he is not interested to join in any of those. Through one of my friend’s suggestion, I tried in Young Buds Chess Academy. He was so comfortable and excited to learn to learn from the teacher Mr. Nilesh. From that moment I can see a drastic change in learning skills and applying them in game. Lakshin was so happy to learn about the chess game in a stress free environment. Rehum Baraka :

Parents’ feedback about Baraka:
Baraka joined coach Lalit’s classes in Young Buds Chess Academy less than 5 months ago. He is an intelligent, funny and caring person who picks up on someone’s character very first. He is also outgoing. These are all skills among the many that he grew his love for chess.
Baraka was first introduced to chess by his elder sister during family game nights at the age of 6 years . It continued as a routine, but his interest grew past the four walls of his home. He started practicing on his own; by watching videos on YouTube. As his mother I noticed how fast he learned new tactics, challenging his sister every other time, so I finally decided to enroll him in his school team. This is where he excelled most and became one of the best chess players in Kenya 🇰🇪in his age group.
Coach’s feedback about Baraka:
Some three months Baraka has joined the class. But his progress is quite imprsssive. His imagination and mathematical abilities are good. Even though he has just join the class, he has quickly become one of best of his batch. He is very sharp and picks up new topics very quickly. Attack and defence wise he has a very balanced game which is unsual at his age. He is very active in the class. He has problem solving capacity which is seen in solving puzzles.
Sanjana Vijayakumar :

Parents’ feedback about Sanjana:
We are extremely proud of Sanjana’s progress in chess. Ever since she joined The Young Buds Chess Academy (YBCA) in 2023, her interest in the game has only heightened. It has been a great pleasure to watch her develop her skills and tactics on the board. Sanjana’s Experience with coach Mayur at YBCA has enhanced her chess skills and has taught her more valuable lessons. I am sure that my daughter will carry on these valuable skills as she moves on in her chess career.
Coach’s feedback about Sanjana:
Sanjana is one of the brilliant student I meet across, her passion for the Chess and her seriousness shows us she is definitely going to dominate in the field of chess. She is really calm and composed but when it comes to chess she plays really aggressive and good moves. She is very sincere and whatever things I assign her as in homework she solves all those things on time and plays games and do analysis of the games.
If she play chess with such sincerity they day is no longer when we can she her achieving a good title in the game of Chess.
Sahasra :

Parents’ feedback about Sahasra:
My daughter, Sahasra Chaparala, is 7 years old and has recently developed a strong interest in chess. I believe that moving the pieces on a chessboard helps improve critical thinking, which is one of the reasons I wanted her to start learning the game seriously. Although I initially tried to teach her myself, I found it difficult to keep her focused.
That changed when we discovered Ms. Aditi Shrivastava from Young Buds Chess Academy. Aditi is an excellent coach with a natural ability to connect with children. We started with a demo class, and Sahasra was instantly drawn to her teaching style. Now, she has two one-hour classes per week and literally looks forward to them with excitement. She even counts down the days until her next session!
In just two months, I’ve seen a noticeable improvement in Sahasra’s concentration, patience, and logical thinking. She has become more confident while playing, and her interest in the game has grown tremendously. It’s truly heartwarming to see her not only enjoy the process but also make steady progress. I’m really grateful to Aditi for making chess such a fun and enriching experience for my daughter.
Coach’s feedback about Sahasra:
Teaching Sahasra has been an absolute delight. She brings such a bright energy to every class, and her genuine curiosity makes each session enjoyable and fulfilling. What I love most is her eagerness to learn and her willingness to challenge herself—whether it’s solving a tricky puzzle or understanding a new concept. She listens attentively, asks thoughtful questions, and celebrates her little wins with so much joy. Watching her grow in confidence and skill week by week reminds me why I love teaching. It’s truly a pleasure to be a part of her chess journey.
-Aditi

Parents’ feedback about Preesha:
When preesha started, we knew she would succeed. With young buds, she exceeded our expectations. We had tried to teach her chess but couldn’t succeed. Once we started Young buds, we decided that this was the best for her. The patience and dedication of her teacher Aniket is much more than we could ever have.
Coach’s feedback about Preesha:
“Preesha is a very ambitious child. She always stays very alert and is highly versatile—she learns things quickly. Her parents are also very supportive and constantly encourage her. I’m sure Preesha is going to have a great career in chess”.
