Star of the month – February 2024

Here we are presenting the stars of the month (February, 2024) at Youngbuds Chess Academy!

Vihaan Challapalli:

Parents’ feedback about Vihaan::

People who knew Vihaan would describe him as a well-behaved, charming, skillful, diligent and a sweet heart!! As parents, we are amazed at his growth from a shy little mama’s boy to an ambitious, Conscientious and exuberant young boy who is articulate about his thoughts and actions.

His energetic and enthusiastic behavior had led him to try out various interests (by the age of 8 years) -cricket, ice skating, training for a 10K, taekwondo, swimming, singing, soccer, biking, shuttle badminton and many more, all while persistently learning and improving in chess.

Something that he started as a way to connect with friends during pandemic, has taken a positive turn and became a fun and exciting time of the week. All credits to his coach!! With his guidance & tactics, Vihaan had already achieved his first chess award of beating his dad.😊

Wishing his days sparkle with love & joy and his life shine with amazing adventures!!

Coach’s feedback about Vihaan:

It gives me immense pleasure to reward Vihaan as star of the month for the second time. He is so much consistent at this small age that I truly believe whichever goal he will pursue, he would be able to do great there. He is a sharp learner and performs great while playing with his senior kids as well. He is a talented as well a hardworking kiddo. I wish he keeps the same passion and dedication alive for the game and keep improving.

Aariv Chheda:

Parents’ feedback about Aariv:

Aariv just turned 7. He is a 1st grader and enjoys multiple activities like Swimming, Martial Arts, Baseball, Soccer and Chess. He has been with YBCA since last year and has grown a lot in his time here. Really enjoys working with his coach, who challenges him while keeping it fun.

Coach’s feedback about Aariv:

Aariv is a sweet and a fun loving kiddo. He does the classes in a passionate way, though he gets distracted sometimes but in the overall class he learns in a pretty good way. What I can see he is really interested in the game, and likes to know more and more by asking more and more in during the puzzle session. It clearly shows his love and passion towards the game. I believe if he maintains the same consistency and dedication towards the sport, he can be a much better player.

Ayansh Sharma:

Parents’ feedback about Ayansh:

Ayansh is a cheerful and curious 6-year-old boy who loves to learn new things. He is in the first grade in Brookwood Elementary school in Georgia, USA. He is fascinated by math and enjoys reading and play with Legos

Ayansh is very interested in the world around him. He likes to ask questions and explore new things and wants to figure out how things work.
Ayansh loves to ride his bike and scooter. He is also good at balancing, climbing, and running.

Ayansh is a kind and caring boy who loves his family. He respects his elders and listens to their advice. He is polite and says “please” and “thank you”. He is also helpful and does his chores.

Ayansh’s passion for chess also helped him in other aspects of his life. He even joined the chess club at his school. He became more confident, focused, and disciplined. He learned how to plan ahead, think critically, and cope with failure.

Coach’s feedback about Ayansh:

I’m really impressed by Ayansh’s learning power at such a small age. His game as well as his focus and discipline got improved a lot now as compared to earlier. Now he is able to solve a lot of puzzles during the sessions and practice the game with great passion and in a focused way. I want him to maintain this same consistency in future as well and keep growing.

Vasu Sharma:

Parents’ feedback about Vasu:

Vasu stands for Valuable, Adventurous, Sincere, & Unique. He is nine years old and a third grader from Chicago, Illinois. He is passionate about San Francisco 49ers and likes to play baseball, basketball, and tennis, but Chess is his favorite indoor game. He plays Chess with his Sister, Dad, Uncle, school friends, and of- course his Chess coach. When he plays chess with older people; he anticipates the challenge and learns new moves. He loves to make 3D models on his computer and loves to draw and build Legos. The instruments he plays are the Violin and the Piano. His favorite subject in school is science and enjoys experimenting. His favorite experiment was melting gummies and mixing baking soda and vinegar and seeing them explode. He wants to be a Soldier or Scientist as a grown-up. He likes chess because it helps him to think creatively. His favorite piece is The King because the King keeps him in the game, but he is equally sad about losing a Queen. Vasu always accepts challenges to get better at Chess and is thankful to his coach for teaching him better moves to get better day by day.

Coach’s feedback about Vasu:

Vasu is a good learner and also very much disciplined what I see him in the classes. He an obedient student as well who follows the instructions given by his coach. His best and most important quality is that he is doesn’t care about win/lose in the game and tries to enjoy, learn and get more and more experience. He is very much passionate towards the game. I hope he will maintain the consistency in his practice and passion and keep making his game better.
