Star of the month – October 2023

Here we are presenting the stars of the month (October 2023) at Youngbuds Chess Academy!

Srivathsa Malladi:

Parents’ feedback about Srivathsa:

Srivathsa is a very energetic and active 9 years old boy. He is very caring, helping and dynamic. He is a very fast learner and does things right on time. He got a red carpet recognition award for anti drug and anti bullying at the county level.He was awarded best student of the year for his academic and for best behavior. Srivathsa started learning chess when he was 4 years old. Unfortunately, he had a big gap in learning chess because of covid. He started learning chess again with Youngbuds Chess Academy. He enjoys playing chess and playing chess is his passion. We are fortunate to get introduced with the coaches at YBCA. Srivathsa resumed his chess classes. He got first place in the San Joaquin County chess tournament conducted in Tracy city by the US Chess Federation on 3rd November 2023.I would like to thank again the coaches at YBCA for their dedication and time to teach chess and make it a fun activity for the kids. Thank you .

Srivathsa is very consistent in his game performance. He catches the concepts very fast. He is really interested in the game, and likes to know more and more about it by doing more and more research. It clearly shows his love and passion towards the game. I believe if he maintains the same consistency and dedication towards the sport, he can be a much better chess player.

Adhwitha Prakash:

Parents’ feedback about Adhwitha:

Adhwitha is 10 years old living in Cary, North Carolina. She is a 5th grader studying in HighCroft Drive Elementary School. She is a huge art lover who loves to draw, make crafts and also learning Indian Classical Music and Dance. 

Apart from art, she plays badminton and also mainly focusing in playing Chess. She likes to explore different opening moves in Chess and loves to have fun while playing. The weekend tournaments are really helping her improve the time management and also to get the feel of games with different levels of proficiency. 

Many thanks to YBCA for motivating her and making a change in her Chess journey. There are many young kids who play really well during the tournament and wishing best of luck to everyone with their Chess journey.

Coach’s feedback about Adhwitha:

Adhwitha is a talented player and is showing consistent improvement in the game. She is very passionate towards the sport. One thing I can see about her, if she is passionate about something, she tries to give her best there, her this quality is helping her in shaping up her game skills. She tries not to give up in any of the questions and tries to answer every single one. Hope she continues the same passion and love for the game and do great in the chess world.

Neha Varma Uppalapati:

Neha is a vibrant fourth grader, has a passion for drawing, swimming, traveling, and making friends. Her colorful sketches and imaginative creations showcase her love for drawing. With a keen interest in the world around her, she asks questions and explores new ideas. Traveling allows her to delve into diverse cultures and landscapes, fueling her curiosity. Reading books and building intricate Lego structures with friends are her favorite pastimes. Swimming and skating are her preferred physical activities. As a student at YBCA, each game provides her with opportunities to sharpen her mind, enhance concentration, and refine her problem-solving abilities. We extend our gratitude to the patient and encouraging coaches at YBCA.

Coach’s feedback about Neha:

Neha is a sharp minded girl and has shown nice improvement in the game. She is having excellent catching power in understanding the concepts. She practice as much as possible and try not to miss any class. I see that at the time of playing she is fully focused and doesn’t get distracted. I believe she will continue the same consistency and do better and better in the game.

Siva Sai Ashwath Ravi:

Siva is fun-loving, and compassionate boy who values honesty, justice, and morality. He loves in conversations that help him build personality and a very emotional boy who takes care of people around him without a second thought.Siva also loves plaing video games and some of his favorates are Minecraft, Fortnight, Rocket League, & Spiderman. We are very thankful to his Chess Coach for his time, patience commitment and passion to teach the tricks and techniques that helped Siva improve his game. Thank You YBCA!!

Siva is extremely enthusiastic in chess and always interested to learn new things in chess. Never been once he’s been lazy in class. Extremely consistent in playing chess and try not to miss any session. He learns from his mistakes and enjoys the game. Happy to have this kiddo as my student who is very obedient as well as a passionate and a dedicated chess player. Hope he keeps the same passion alive for chess and keep growing.

Kairav Nag:

Kairav is 10 years old and studies at Reeder Elementary School in Omaha, NE. He loves building stuff with Legos, solving puzzles, and solving the Rubik’s Cube. He is a picky boy, and because of his nature, we were not sure if he would enjoy learning and playing chess, but he actually showed his intense interest in Chess. Not only that, but he is very keen on learning new things and very good at math. I would appreciate the coach’s guidance at YBCA and continuing to boost Kairav’s passion and dedication towards chess.

Kairav is very consistent in his practice and hence he is showing consistent improvement in the game. He is very talented and hardworking guy, which ensures his consistent growth. I can see in him the love and passion towards the practice required to be a good player. He is very energetic and a fun loving kiddo who always has a great interaction during the classes. Hope he continues the same passion and love for the game and do much more in chess

Vansh Pusuluri is an active and fun loving 11-year-old living in Union city, CA and studying in 6th grade. He likes to take his dog (Chaaky) on long hikes and climb rocks, he is obsessed with airplanes and loves to build new structures with his Lego toys. Vansh loves chess and tries to play chess whenever he finds time at school. He is very grateful to the Chess staff at YBCA

Vansh is a talented and hardworking chess player. He catches all the concepts very fast. He tries to Practice more and more puzzles and games. It clearly shows his love and passion towards the game. He likes to analyse the games as well which is sometimes a boring thing for the kids. I hope he will maintain the consistency in his practice and passion and will keep improving.

Moksh Ganesh:

Moksh Ganesh is fun loving and kindhearted kid who is always curious to learn new things and take on new adventures. From a very young age he has been fascinated by dinosaurs and building Lego’s. Beyond his school activities, he actively spends his time in learning swimming, tennis and playing strategy board games. He also shows keen interest in playing arcade games and watching kid’s movies. He was introduced to chess because of his cousin who is also trained at young buds about how to play and saw how a coach teaches new concept. We are always thankful to the coach for how much Moksh has learnt over the years and we hope he continues to enjoy chess as he does today.

Moksh is a passionate and talented chess player. He had shown a nice improvement in the game since the time of joining. His games are very consistent. He catches the concepts fast. I see an excitement in him everytime during the class and never saw a lack of energy in him. If he continues to show the same love and dedication towards the game, he can get much more improvement in the sport.

Kyna Gupta:

Meet Kyna, the queen of curiosity and captain of organization at William Sydney’s fourth-grade crew in Queens, New York. She’s as adventurous as a knight on a chessboard. Kyna loves horseback riding, gymnastics, and swimming. She’s a fun-loving and kind-hearted kid with an infectious giggle. She turns living rooms into exciting board game battlefields, challenging her family to games of wits and strategy.
When she’s not playing outside or in the pool, Kyna is a tactical genius at chess. Her neatly lined up knights and pawns show her love for order, just like her tidy room where everything is in perfect harmony.
On rainy days, you’ll find her playing card games like ‘Go Fish’ or solving mysteries in ‘Clue.’ Kyna is a young visionary with a planner full of colorful dreams and organized plans.
Let’s not forget her chess coach, the hero who patiently encourages her. Kyna approaches life with the same enthusiasm she brings to game nights and horseback riding, making the world her playground.

Kyna is a very fun loving and passionate chess player. She catches the concepts easily and applies them into the game also in a good way. She is very much interested towards the game. She likes to play in the principled way, and try to follow the principles in the game. She participates very active during the classes which shows her love towards the game. I hope he will maintain the consistency in his practice and passion and will be a great chess player.
